The genesis of this ridiculous little app was a Ruby script that I constructed a few years ago. An exercise? Perhaps. A useful tool? Unlikely. It was fun to hack together nonetheless.
The function here is simple. Take a list of names. Find every combination of those names. Then, lookup each name's popularity.
From your list of names all possible name combinations will be shown this space.
Example:
Samuel Langhorne Clemens
Langhorne Samuel Clemens
Assuming that the names in your list are found (exact spelling) in the Top 1000 popular names for 2009, they will be shown here along with their rankings.
Example:
Samuel #28
